Serra Devassa – Sete Cidades
This circular walk takes place in one of the most breathtaking areas of São Miguel Island – Serra Devassa – a volcanic mountain range of NW-SE orientation that develops from the SE board of the Sete Cidades Caldera.
The walk begins and ends in front of Lagoa do Canário and extends to altitudes between 750m and 850m.
Along the idyllic landscape, there are several lagoons, such as the Lagoas das Éguas Norte and Sul, Lagoa Rasa, Lagoa do Carvão and Lagoa do Pau Pique. Due to its location this trail is conditioned by the weather conditions.
Head towards the parish of Sete Cidades where you can relax by the banks of the Lagoon and enjoy the regional gastronomy (own expense), alternatively relax with a sea bath in the natural hot springs of Ponta da Ferraria, in the parish of Ginetes, conditioned by climatic and sea conditions.
