Faial da Terra – Sanguinho
The route begins and ends in Faial da Terra next to a building called “teatro” built in 1908 in honor of the Holy Spirit, in the place of Burguete.
The walk starts at the banks of the stream of Faial da Terra, which maintains its water course throughout the year.
Approximately in the half part of the trail, you will find the waterfall of Salto do Prego, where a refreshing bath is possible.
On the way back visit the place of Sanguinho, uninhabited since the 70’s of the last century, where about twenty houses are in the process of recovery.
The place has its name, due to the presence of Sanguinho, endemic plant of Madeira and the Azores.
Back in the parish of Faial da Terra take time to enjoy the regional gastronomy (own expense) and relax next to the mouth of the stream that crosses it.
